In May we ran the Ugliest AC Contest, where we chose one winner in Siouxland who had the ugliest air conditioner. Our lucky winner, Delores Sturgeon, had her new equipment installed just in time for the summer season. She wont have to worry about staying cool this summer! We have some before and after pictures from the ugliest air conditioner in Siouxland to one that will last her for years to come.
The Contest
When we started the ugliest air conditioner contest we knew we would come across a lot of old and ugly equipment. We received multiple entries ranging from about 10 years old to some that were possibly around 30-40 years old. Ultimately, it came down to a select few that were significantly worse looking than the others.
Having an old and inefficient system can bring many issues and dangers to your home, especially if it isn’t regularly and properly serviced. Be sure to have regular HVAC service agreements so you can keep your HVAC equipment in tip-top shape for many years. This will also save you money in the long run as issues are usually found during your maintenance check and can be resolved before the small issue becomes irreparable.
The WinneR
Our committee got together to decide on the Ugliest AC in Siouxland. Ultimately, Delores was the unanimous vote. Delores is the owner of a very old, ugly, and rusty air conditioner. She was even unsure if it was going to start up this summer.
The New, Installed Lennox Air COnditioner
Delores was extremely happy to hear that she was the winner of the Ugliest AC Contest. This new air conditioner is properly sized to fit her home and her needs. We also installed a new thermostat to go along with the energy efficient air conditioner. We moved the thermostat as well so it was more accessible for her and worked properly. This new HVAC equipment will cool her home more efficiently and will save her money on her energy bills.
Her new programmable thermostat allows her to program her routine, so when she’s home she will be comfortable and when she’s away the temperature lowers and she’s saving as much money and energy as possible. A programmable thermostat is a great way to save on your energy bill as it allows the temperature to fluctuate throughout the day while also providing maximum comfort when you’re home.
Old, inefficient equipment not only struggles to work at times, but it also uses more energy to get the job done. The result of this is much higher energy bills than necessary.
